Recognizing hunger in our community is the first step to making it disappear. Over 287,500 Sacramento County residents suffer from food insecurity—the inability to access affordable, nutritious food. Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) is committed to expanding access to fresh and healthier food choices through our distribution network of many partner agencies open six days a week, many in underserved areas of Sacramento County. To find a food distribution near you, see Find Food below.

SFBFS provides more than a free meal. Our goal is to use the power of community to affect countywide change and move more of our friends and neighbors toward self-sufficiency.

In 2021, SFBFS’ partner agencies distributed over 37 million pounds of fresh, quality groceries throughout the county thanks to the generous contributions of donors big and small.
