Who We Are

Welcome to the judgment-free zone.

As the largest nonprofit provider of basic human needs in Sacramento County, we take our mission one step further by offering family support services that allow people who seek support to shape their best tomorrow. We are a place for hope and prosperity, a place where women and men, children and elders, are offered the tools they may need—food, diapers, utility assistance, legal services or just plain kindness—as they move toward a path of financial independence and self-sufficiency.

Personal Stories

What it means to be all-in

Read the stories of the incredible people who inspire our work. From our CalFresh Program manager Lorena to 80-year-old volunteer Pat, these are the people who motivate us to create change in Sacramento County.

Lorena’s all-in.

She was a newlywed in a new country. And Lorena will tell you, it was really hard.

Ali’s all-in.

His smile is as big as anyone else’s you will meet (except for those of his kids).

Pat’s all-in.

Pat says she can’t stop volunteering because there are still hungry kids out there.
